The Story of Mystic March

Art, objects, stories, and a life spent making things.

Mystic March was founded by artist, writer, songwriter, and jewelry designer Shannon Mahoney as a home for a life spent making things.

Born into a family shaped by both artistic tradition and entrepreneurial spirit, I grew up understanding that creativity was not something separate from everyday life. It was part of how we worked, how we communicated, how we remembered, and how we made our way through the world.

My own work has followed that same winding path.

I have spent years working with fine jewelry, gemstones, watches, and objects with histories. I have painted and written stories. I have written songs and made films. I have worked across mediums that might appear unrelated, but to me they have always been connected by the same things: time, place, memory, inheritance, and what we choose to carry forward.

Mystic March grew from that connection.

It is rooted in the belief that art belongs in the midst of ordinary life. A piece of jewelry can hold a history. A painting can change the feeling of a room. A song can give language to something we haven't known how to say. A story can let us recognize ourselves in someone else's life.

Over time, Mystic March has become less a collection of separate creative pursuits and more the place where they are allowed to live together.

Jewelry. Painting. Music. Writing. Film. Objects with stories of their own.

One form often finds its way into another. A song becomes a painting. A painting becomes part of a film. A memory becomes a story. An object from another time begins a conversation with the present.

The mediums change. The impulse behind them does not.

I make things because I believe what we surround ourselves with matters. I believe objects can carry meaning, stories can connect us, music can hold memory, and beauty can exist alongside all of the complicated things that make up a life.

That is Mystic March.

A place for things made with meaning, shaped by where we've been, and carried forward into whatever comes next.
